We are calling for meaningful support from the Government until our industry is allowed to operate in a way that is not limited by social distancing policies including:

1. Grants – not loans – made available to businesses in the events supply chain
2. Furlough scheme extended until the industry is back to work
3. Extension of the self-employment scheme, tailored towards the industry

Today is about raising awareness of the events sector which is worth £100billion and employs up to 1 million people.

A heartfelt message from the Directors
As we move into August we are sat here deeply saddened that over 50% of our team have had to be made redundant. Before the start of the pandemic we had a workforce of over 30 people with an incredible knowledge of the industry and our products; some staff had been here for over 10 years and had been part of the company’s success and rapid expansion. Having to lose these people has been both a big loss to the company and to ourselves as we also consider them to be our friends.
The company is currently operating on less than a handful of staff with a small number still on furlough. As we look to the coming months, we see no imminent improvement and realistically we do not see anything changing until the middle of next year. We are hoping the staff currently on furlough can be retained, albeit with reduced working hours.
Hundreds of companies have taken loans out and used their cash reserves to support themselves over the last few months with no hope of having any events on their books for the foreseeable future. Many more companies will be forced to make staff redundant over the coming weeks, months and until mass gatherings are permitted again the situation will only get worse.
We would like to wish everybody in the industry who has been affected by this devastating situation all the very best and hopefully most of us will make it through.
