Prolight and BPG are feeling SAVVY!

Fairfield Halls, Croydon

BPG Events had a busy few days on their latest installation for the new SAVVY Studio Theatre, who are one of the exciting new companies-in-residence at Croydon’s iconic Fairfield Halls, which reopened in September after a multi-million-pound heritage restoration.

SAVVY, a professional theatre group, are enjoying being in their first purpose-built studio and utilising all the new lighting and audio equipment for their rehearsals and productions. BPG Events fitted out the studio with a full rig of LED fresnels from our MP Series, they mixed MP120 warm white LED fresnels which produce a soft edge beam with MP180 RGBALC full colour Fresnel style fixtures offering colour mixing capabilities and are perfect for short throw applications. These 2 products together will give the theatre group no end of possibilities for creating the perfect scene for any dramatization.

To further enhance their productions, BPG Events also installed a compact sound system supplied by OHM (UK) and comprising of BRT-6 passive speakers and a BRS-12 subwoofer, all controlled and powered by our Zenith
CD 4400 amplifier and LSP204 Loudspeaker Processor. The CD 4400 has a high output power, outstanding sound quality and superior stability, whilst the LSP204 loudspeaker management system is built around a powerful processor core and offers a wide variety of features allowing the sound technician to adjust delay, dynamics, routing, crossover and EQ either from the easy to use interface on the front panel or via the Windows based PC editing suite.

The team here at Prolight and BPG Events hope the SAVVY crew have fun creating their future productions with their new equipment for many years to come.

Ben Morrison, Director of BPG said…“We chose the MP120 and MP180 Fresnels for their build quality and flexibility in a small space. The light output is fantastic and the flexibility with the beam angle works well in a small studio space. The additional Cyan and Lime colours in the MP180 are particularly good and give far more colour options than other fixtures. The 4 channel Zenith amplifier and LSP204 Loudspeaker Processor were our first choice as they are lightweight, quiet and have exceptional build quality. The LSP204 Loudspeaker Processor is easy to programme via the included software via a laptop and we had it up and running in less than 30 minutes”
